Ernest married Mary DALRYMPLE-HORN ELPHINSTONE, daughter of Colonel Robert DALRYMPLE-HORN and Mary ELPHINSTONE, on 21 November 1785.1 2 (Mary DALRYMPLE-HORN ELPHINSTONE was born on 13 February 1761 2 and died on 3 July 1812 2.)
