His (John Innes, son of Alexander Innes and Marjorie Gordon) eldest son married Marjorie Geddes, daughter of James Geddes of Auchenreath, and had eighteen children, including John Innes of Leuchars, who married, at the age of forty-nine, Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Sir George Gordon of Edinglassie, the latter being his father's first cousin."
