"Alexander Innes was the son of Robert Innes of Rothmakenzie and Cromey and Margaret Ann Meldrum. He married unknown daughter Hay of Lochloy. He died before 1547. He was wadsetter of Blackhills."

Innes, A. & ., cciv., 162.), Dunkinly, Blackhills, Dippell, Lichnett, and Redhall."
