When Catherine Winton died in 1914, her death certificate recorded her age as 76 years. It also recorded that she had been married to 1] Samuel Tragheim draper and 2] George Wright iron moulder. George Wright, widower, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of Catherine's death before the registrar, P. Goldie, at Lasswade on 9 March 1914.

George married Catherine WINTON, daughter of Robert WINTON (DNA Link) and Helen WEBSTER, on 31 December 1872 in Viewforth House, Edinburgh, Scotland.1 (Catherine WINTON was born on 1 August 1837, baptised on 13 August 1837 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland 2 and died 8 March 1914 at 5.00 am in 80 Clerk Street, Loanhead, Midlothian, Scotland 4.). The cause of her death was cerebral haemorrhage over 2 months.

The marriage took place ,after banns, according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was Thomas McLaughlan. The witnesses were Alexander Wright and Jessie Forbes.

George Wright was a bachelor of 31 years of age. He resided at No 15 of No 2 Tenement of Begg's Building, Abbey House, Edinburgh. He worked as an iron moulder. His parents, Thomas Wright, a sawyer by trade, and Margaret Brown were still living.

Catherine Winton or Traghiam was a widow of 32 years of age. She was a machiniste [sic]. She lived at Freer Street, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. Her father, Robert Winton, was deceased.

The marriage was registered on 4 January 1873 at Edinburgh, John Minto the signing registrar.

Note:

Catherine Winton was born in 1837,so was in fact 35 years old when she married in 1872.< 1 5
