In the afternoon Johny Gordon, Tullichalm's Son, and Willie Catanach, from Banff, arrived from Scalan to be sent to Rome. They Brought Letters from Bishop Hay; Robert Gordon, Clashnoir, whose Father is dead; from Mr. Mclntosh; and from Mr. Mcpherson. Wrote to Bishop Hay, to meet him in Enzie; to Mr. Menzies of Pitfoddels; and to Lord Monboddo. Had received two Letters by Bishop Hay by the Boys."
