Isobel Wemyss married John Auchmoutie of that Ilk.

If Isobel was Jean's mother then her father was John Auchmoutie, not David.

According to The Red Book of Scotland, David married Janet Lindsay of Balcarres by a marriage contract of February/March 1616.

Jean is not listed with David's children in The Red Book of Scotland, so there may have been some uncertainty about her birth, which can be, though is not necessarily, an indication of illegitimacy. The monograph does not name a mother for Jean. ¹
