General Notes: James Reid was part of the Sandilands household living at 4 Semple Street Edinburgh in 1881 according to the census of that year. He was married to Mary Sandilands and classed in the entry as a sub tenant. He was a fireclay goods van driver. He had been born in Ratho, Midlothian, and was aged 26 years. 1 James married Mary SANDILANDS, daughter of James SANDILANDS and Marion GREENHILL, on 10 March 1881 in 36 Lauder Road, Edinburgh, Scotland. (Mary SANDILANDS was born on 25 August 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland 1.) Marriage Notes: The marriage took place after the publication of banns according to the forms of the Free Church. The minister was John McEwan, minister of John Knox's Church. The witnesses were William Moncur and Ann Ross. |
