May 1683; died June 1726. He marr. (1) Marjory (died 23rd Dec. 1696), daugh. of Walter Stuart of Ryland, Alvah, and had issue James, Episcopal clergy man in Virginia, U.S.A., born 1715; Alexander, also Episcopal clergyman in Virginia, born 1716, died 1737; Robert; Catherine (marr. Alexander Gordon of Crombie)"
