Her brother, William (V. of Gight), murdered her husband's step-father, Thomas Fraser of Strichen, on Christmas Eve, 1576, at Old Deer. Her son, John Chalmers, took part in the fight at Donibristle, 1592. Margaret Gordon, according to the Balbithan MS., married secondly 'the laird of Philorth's brother'."
