WARBECK, Perkin 1Cause of his death was execution by hanging.2 User ID: B923. Perkin married Catherine GORDON, daughter of Sir George GORDON 2nd Earl of Huntly, High Chancellor of Scotland and Elizabeth HAY, January 1495(1496).1 (Catherine GORDON was born about 1477 and died in October 1537 1.) Marriage Notes: "Catherine, who had a romantic history. She was married in January 1495-96 to Perkin Warbeck, who claimed to be Richard, Duke of York, one of the young princes who were said to be slain in the Tower. After her husband's death on 23 November 1499, she was well treated at the court of King Henry VII., who styled her the 'White Rose.' .... She died in October 1537, her will being dated 12 October and proved in London 5 November of that year. She had no children by any of her husbands. She was apparently daughter of Elizabeth Hay." |
