Marjory married John CARRON OR CAIRNS, son of Hugh CURRAN OR CAIRNS (DNA Linked) and Rebecca ADAMS (DNA Linked), on 3 February 1888 in High Street, Portobello, Edinburgh, Scotland.1 (John CARRON OR CAIRNS was born on 26 May 1867 in Liberton, Midlothian, Scotland and died on 5 June 1949 in 38 Bridge Street, Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland 2 4 5.). The cause of his death was coronary infarction over 10 days.

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. George T. Jamieson, Minister of Portobello, married the couple. The witnesses were Walter Linton and Madge Denholm.

John Cairns was a railway goods guard by occupation living at 7 Mentone Avenue, Portobello. He was single and 20 years of age.

Marjory Dewar was a domestic servant living at Monkton Hall, North Esk, Musselburgh. She was 21 years old and single. Her parents, John Dewar, a farm servant, and Margaret Ramsay, were living.

The marriage was registered at Portobello on 6 February 1888, the registrar being William Baxendine. 6 8
