A Michael McConnachie was recorded in the 1891 census, aged 25 years, Irish born, and living at 40 Omoa Square Cleland. He was described as a boarder with Peter and Ellen Lynch and family. His occupation was quarry labourer. It is very likely that that Michael McConnachie and this are one and the same.
Michael and Sarah McConnochie were living right beside Charles Vallely and his household at Windyedge Farm, on the Hareshaw Road near Cleland, as recorded by the 1901 census. Michael, head of the household, was recorded as 29 years of age and had been born in Ireland. He worked as a coal miner.
Michael's daughter Mary Jane was born in 1903. In her birth certificate Michael was recorded as 'Michael McConnachie coal miner'. The certificate also recorded the parents had been married on 31 December 1898 in the West District of Shotts.
Michael was recorded as aged 46 years when he died in 1917. He had been a coal miner. He was predeceased by his wife Sarah. 1 3 4 5 6
