In the Church Baptism Record transcribed (above) and made available by the Irish Family History Foundation, Sarah Ann O'Rorke was recorded as having been baptised on 31 August 1850 in the RC parish of Dungannon in County Tyrone Ireland. Her parents were Fras O'Rorke and Mary [sic] Campbel. The address noted was Rossmore. The sponsor was recorded simply as 'Margt'.
The 1861 census recorded Sarah aged 11 years, a scholar, living at 73 Omoa Square in the parish of Shotts, with her parents, many brothers and sisters, her grandfather and a lodger.
The 1871 census recorded her living at number 50 'Houses south of Edinburgh Rd', Clarkston, New Monkland. She was aged 20 years, unmarried and a paper mill worker. 1 2
