Mary married Francis CORRIGAN, son of Patrick CORRIGAN and Sarah VALLELY, on 3 March 1851 in St Mary's RC Chapel, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (Francis CORRIGAN was born in 1828 in County Tyrone, Ireland ^{3 4} and died 14 March 1881 at 10.00 am in 37 Maxwelltown, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland ³.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis.

The IGI recorded the proclaamation of banns for this marriage as 16 February 1851 at Shotts parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

In the marriage records of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church Hamilton was entered by Father Michael Condon under the date 3 March 1851

"Francis Corrigan and Mary McGinnis both of Cleland after due proclamations were married by me in the presence of Thomas Vallely and Bridget McGinnis. (signed) Michael Condon"
