Agnness Quin was recorded in 1881 by the census for New Monkland. She was aged 34 and had been born in Ballochney where she was living. ³

Agnes married William QUIN, son of William QUINN and Mary VALLELY, on 27 May 1867 in St Margaret's RC Church, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (William QUIN was born on 26 November 1843 in South Stanrigg, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland ^{3 4} and was baptised on 28 November 1843 in St Margaret's RC Church, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁴.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The celebrant was Thomas H. Donnelly Catholic Clergyman. The witnesses were Hugh Devlin and Jane Macleod, both of whom made their X mark.

William Quin, who made his X mark, was an unmarried man who worked as a coal miner. He lived in Plains and his recorded age was 22.

Agnes Moreland, who also made her X mark, was a paper mill worker and single. She too lived in Plains and was 20 years old. Both of her parents were deceased.

The marriage was registered on May 29 1867 at Airdrie, the registrar being William Whyte. ²
