  General Notes:

According to the 1855 birth certificate of her daughter Bridget, Helen Valloly nee Ward was aged 19 and had been born in County Down. Bridget was her first child.

In 1861 the census recorded Helen Valellay living with her husband and 3 children in Bathgate West Lothian. her children ranged in age from 4 years to 1. Helen who was Irish born was recorded as 26 years of age. ⁴

Helen married Thomas VALLELY, son of Charles VALLELY in Gortin & Glebe and Sarah BRIENS, on 15 August 1854 in St Margaret's RC Church, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.^{1 2} (Thomas VALLELY was baptised on 19 February 1832 in Dungannon RC parish, County Tyrone, Ireland ⁷.)

Fr Duncan McNab married Thomas and Helen. The witnesses were Alex Hamel and Agnes Hughes.
