Mary O' Donald was just 4 months old when recorded by the 1881 census. She was living with her family in the parish of Bothwell, where she had been born, at Penman's Land, Biggar Road.
Mary was aged 10 years when the 1891 census was taken. She lived in High Rows, Chapelhall, with her sister, brother and widowed mother. She was a scholar then, and had been born in Bothwell parish.
In the 1901 census for the parish of Shotts, Mary was recorded as a brick work girl. She was 20 years old, and lived with her mother and her step father at 53 Omoa Square, Cleland. Her birthplace was noted as Airdrie. 7 9 10
Mary married Thomas DEVLIN on 16 August 1901 in RC Chapel, Cleland, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Thomas DEVLIN was baptised on 7 October 1878 in Drumlish parish, County Longford, Ireland 11 and died on 29 January 1913 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, USA 12.)
