  General Notes:

In 1855 when his daughter Jane Dugen was born her birth certificate was of the 'long' type, and provided additional details about her parents. In it her father James Dugen, who was the informant of Jane's birth, was recorded as a 30 year old labourer born in County Armagh, Ireland. he and his wife had married in Hexam [sic], England, and had two girls living.

In 1881 James Duggan, aged 53 years, a labourer, was the head a household living at 43 Plantation Street in Govan Church parish on the south side of the River Clyde. He had been born in Ireland. With him lived his son John, a farm labourer aged 17 years, and his daughters Margaret and Sarah, aged 12 and 9 years respectively. The three children were born in Kirkmichael, Ayrshire.

James Dougan was deceased when his daughter, Sarah, married Arthur Tweedly in 1924. He was a labourer. 1 3 4


James married Anne BURNS in 1851 in Hexham, England.1 (Anne BURNS was born about 1830 and died before 21 March 1924 4.)
