Other names for Martha were DAVIES, Martha 3 and McCALLUM, Martha.2 General Notes: Martha McCallum was recorded by the 1881 census for Govan parish living with her husband and four children at 164 Sandyfaulds Street. Her age was noted as 29 years and her birthplace as England. Unusually for a wife, she was recorded as having an occupation - power loom weaver. Martha married John McCALLUM, son of John McCALLUM and Agnes GEORGE, on 25 February 1870 in Hutchesontown Relief Church, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (John McCALLUM was born in 1850 in Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland 4.) Marriage Notes: The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. Robert K. Monteath, minister of Hutchesontown Church, officiated. Christopher Wood and John Davies were witnesses. |
