General Notes: William Smith was recorded in the death certificate of his wife Susan in 1892 as a labourer. He was deceased by then. 2 William married Ann SMITH MS UNKNOWN about 1830. (Ann SMITH MS UNKNOWN was born about 1809 in Stevenston parish, Ayrshire, Scotland 3.) William next married Susan WHATTERS, daughter of John WATERS and Jane KEITH, on 6 April 1857 in Dreghorn, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Susan WHATTERS was born in 1817 in Ireland 1 4 5 6 and died 24 February 1892 at 7.00 am in Rose Lane, Queensferry, Fife, Scotland 2 7.). The cause of her death was senile debility. Marriage Notes: The marriage took place after banns and according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. John Campbell Jamieson, minister of Dreghorn parish, officiated. The witnesses were Margaret Lambie and Jane Dunlop. |
