LINESS, Ann 1

  • Born: About 1800

Another name for Ann was LINNOS, Ann.2

  General Notes:

With Richard Devlin, Ann Liness was sponsor to Patrick Quigley son of James Quigley and Mary Duncan at St Mirin's Paisley on 14 November 1825.

The 1841 census recorded an Ann Linnos living at Bishop Street in Barony parish, Glasgow, with Christina Linnos and Helen Newlands. She was in the 40-44 years age range and was a cotton winder. There was no indication about whether Ann was married or not and whether Linnos was her maiden surname or not. Since Christina was in the 30-34 years range and was also called Linnos this may suggest they were sisters or cousins rather than parent and child. 1 2 3

Noted events in her life were:

1. sponsor at baptism, 14 November 1825, St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. 1
