  General Notes:

The 1901 census for Bothwell parish in Lanarkshire, Scotland Henry, and Susan McCormick, aged 22 years and 20 years respectively, were living with their infant daughter isabella, aged 2 years, and their son William, aged 1 year, at Hamilton Road Parkhead Rows Cross. Two visitors also lived there, Edward and Maggie McSheffrey. Henry was a coal miner, and had been born in England. Susan was born in Ireland, and the children in Scotland.

In the marriage certificate of his daughter Mary in 1925 Henry was recorded as a miner by occupation. 3 4

Henry married Susan WHITTERS, daughter of John WHITTERS and Isabella McINALLY, on 18 February 1898 in RC Church, Mossend, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Susan WHITTERS was born about 1880 in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, Scotland 1 3 7 8 9 and died on 19 January 1955 in North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Charles Daly. The witnesses were James Whitters (written as Whatters then crossed out on the 'a') and Ellen Burns.

Henry McCormick was a coal miner aged 19 years who lived at 23 New Orbiston Bellshill. He was an unmarried man. His mother was deceased.

Susan Whatters [sic] was an unmarried woman aged 17 years. She lived at 63 Parkhead Rows Bellshill. Her mother was deceased.

The marriage was registered on 21 February 1898 at Bellshill, Gavin Blackie being the signing registrar. 1
