The 1881 census for Govan parish recorded David Colquhoun and his wife living at 164 Sandyfaulds Street. David was recorded as 63 years old. His birthplace was Paisley and he was a railway labourer by occupation.

In the death certificate of Agnes George of 1910, David was recorded as her second husband. He was a railway surfaceman, according to this source. 6 7


David married Elizabeth FULTON, daughter of John FULTON and Elizabeth AULD, on 23 October 1838 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.1 (Elizabeth FULTON was born in 1818 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland 1 4 and died before 14 August 1874.)


David next married Agnes GEORGE, daughter of Samuel GEORGE (DNA Linked) and Rebecca REID (DNA Linked), on 14 August 1874 in 21 Abbotsford Place, Glasgow, Scotland.2 (Agnes GEORGE was born in 1828 in Crookedholm, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 6 7 8 9 10 and died 28 August 1910 at 1.00 am in Old Monkland Poorhouse, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland 7.). The cause of her death was senile debility - in hospital 23 days.


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. Robert K. Monteath, minister of Hutchesontown, officiated. The witnesses were David Colquhoun and Bart. Allan.

David Colquhoun, who made his X mark, was aged 46 years and a widower. He lived at 2 Warwick Street Glasgow. He worked as a railway labourer. His parents were deceased.

Agnes McGeorge [sic] or McCallum, who made her X mark, was a widow of 43 years of age. She was a washer and cleaner, and shared the same address as the groom. Her parents too were dead.

The marriage was registered on 17 August 1874 at Glasgow, James Tait being the signing registrar. 2
