In 1861 when his father in law, John feally, died, George was the informant of the death at Carluke. He signed his name as 'George Hughtison'. His address was noted as Grammar School Square, Hamilton.

In 1863 when Rosa Feely, his mother in law, died at Hamilton, George was the informant. His name was again signed; it looks like 'George Hughkie'. His address was given simply as Motherwell, parish of Dalziel.

SURNAME

'Hughkie' looks and sounds more like the Irish 'Haughie' than 'Hutcheson'.
