Christian married Gilbert SKENE 8th of that Ilk, son of Alexander SKENE 7th of that Ilk and Mariota KINNAIRD, in 1481.1 (Gilbert SKENE 8th of that Ilk was born about 1449 and died by 19 March 1485 1.)

"In May, 1470, Gilbert Skene is infeft as heir, served and retoured, to Alexander Skene, his father, in the lands and barony of Skene.

In 1481 he married Cristina Mercer, and settled two farms in Wester Skene as her jointure lands, as appears from a Crown charter granted in 23rd May, 1481

Christian next married Duncan FORBES of Corsindae, son of James FORBES 2nd Lord Forbes and Egidia KEITH.2 (Duncan FORBES of Corsindae was born about 1443.)

"Duncan (Forbes), mentioned in the Acta Auditorum, 13 February 1491, as brother of the deceased William, Lord Forbes. He married Christian Mercer, daughter of the Laird of Ballief, Provost of Perth, widow of Gilbert Skene of that Ilk. He became ancestor of the Forbeses of Corsindae, and other families of the name."
