General Notes: David Carruth was widowed in 1883. It was he who gave notice of his wife's death before the registrar at Riccarton on 26 March 1883. He had been present where the death took place. In his wife's death certificate his occupation was noted as that of coalminer. 3 David married Elizabeth GEORGE, daughter of Moses GEORGE and Grace BROWN, on 13 April 1860 in Riccarton parish, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Elizabeth GEORGE was born in 1829 in Riccarton parish, Ayrshire, Scotland 4 5 6 and died 26 March 1883 at 7.00 am in Skerrington Row, Hurlford, Ayrshire, Scotland 3.). The cause of her death was malignant disease of the womb over one and a half years. Marriage Notes: The marriage took place at Riccarton according to the forms of the established Church of Scotland. The minister was William Jeffrey. The witnesses were Alexander McLean and John Patterson. |
