Walter married Elizabeth STEWART, daughter of James STEWART of Auchorachan, 3rd of Lesmurdie and Margaret DUFF.1 (Elizabeth STEWART was born about 1694 and died on 31 March 1775 1.)

"Walter Sime [or Sim (so in King's College Graduates, 217), born about 1687, son of John S.; educated at King's College, Aberdeen; M.A. (2nd May 1705); licen. by Presb. of Aberdeen 5th Oct. 1713; ord. to Glass 23rd Sept. 1714; pres. by George II. 11th May 1733; trans. and adm. 23rd April 1734; died 16th Jan. 1763. At the time of his death there was an unusual mortality in the parish from typhoid fever, and the season was one of intense frost so that fires had to be kindled in the churchyard to soften the ground for digging the graves. S.'s body was one of thirteen lying unburied at the time. He marr. 22nd April 1729, Elizabeth (died 31st March 1775), daugh. of James Stuart of Lesmurdie and Margaret, daugh. of Alexander Duff of Keithmore, and had issue John; George; Alexander, apprenticed to a W.S., 1752; Anna; Margaret, all above the age of 16 in 1749; Anne (marr. Alexander Chalmers, min. of Glass); Margaret (marr. 27th May 1754, James Gordon in Cluniemore and afterwards in Pittivaich)."
