"1802
Decr
19 Barny Lynes s. of Arthur L. & Bell Donelly (sponsors but not inserted) Jas. Broadley & wife"

Between 1818 and 1821 Barney was linked with Margaret Liness and Peter Leynos in family baptism ceremonies. It is this link that suggests he was a brother of Margaret. Each time he was a sponsor, it was alongside Margaret, however, and family habits being what they are, it suggests they were both unmarried then and of an age to fulfil this role together. He was a sponsor with Margaret Liness in 1819 when Denis Prentice and Jane Harper's daughter was born. This child must have died as a small child because in 1821 another daughter was born to them whom they also called Elizabeth. This time the sponsors were Margaret Liness as before, and not Bernard but Arthur Liness.

Noted events in his life were:

1. sponsor at baptism, 27 June 1818, St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. 3

2. sponsor at baptism, 27 June 1819, St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. 4
