James Boylan was a farrier and blacksmith according to the 1933 marriage certificate of his son James. 2


James married Margaret DONACHIE, daughter of Hugh DONACHIE and Margaret LAVERY, on 30 June 1906 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Ayr, Scotland.1 (Margaret DONACHIE was born on 30 April 1881 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 1 3 and died after 10 June 1933 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. D. Collins was the celebrating priest. Thomas Scullion and Veronica Donachie were the witnesses.

James Boylan was a single man who worked as a blacksmith. He was aged 27 years and lived at 25 South Harbour Street Ayr. His mother was deceased.

Margaret Donachie was also single and was aged 25 years. She worked as a laundress. She lived at Ayr District Asylum. Her mother too was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Ayr on 2 July 1906. 1
