"Ninian Dunbar of Grangehill Referred to in a charter dated 20 Oct 1616 as 'Ninian son and heir', and in an Elgin deed of 1645 as 'Ninian of Grangehill'. Montrose burnt his house down because he wouldn't fight for Charles I. He was MP for Elgin and Forres in 1646/47."
