"Robert Irvine, son of Alexander I. of Ironsyde, and uncle of John I. of Kincausie; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (1659); licen. by Presb. of Alford ; ord. to Strathdon in 1663; trans, and adm. 26th July 1666. In 1694 a complaint was made against him to the Privy Council that he, with the son of the laird, had severely assaulted in March 1694 the tenant of Croslachie, and compelled him to sign a renunciation of his tack. The minister and the laird not appearing were outlawed, but this sentence was recalled 16th June 1698. I. died before 28th May 1707. He marr. (cont. 15th April 1668, Agnes, daugh. of Patrick Murray of Blairfindy, and had issue Adam of Brucklay, served heir 9th Jan. 1708; Ann (marr. John Gordon of Law). [P. C. "Mr Robert Irvine's spouse in 1688 was Agnes Murray, when they both got sasine on old Morlioh: at same time Alex.Gairden of Troup got sasine on an annual rent of ,£28 Is. 8d., and Alex. Strachane of Glenkindie got sasine on an annual rent of £20, both also out of old Morlich at same time, 15 March 1688. Again in 1690 Mr Robert Irvine, Rector of Towie, got sasine on an annual rent of £120 out of Heughhead of Coul. (Notes by Col. Forbes-Leslie)."
