The 1871 Cenus for Abbey parish, Paisley, recorded John Lochhead as the head of a household living at Station Lodge, Johnstone. Including himself there were eight persons in the household: John, his wife, Margaret, their three sons and two daughters, and Margaret's mother Margaret Barbourr, a widow of 62 years of age, born in Lochwinnoch.

Margaret married William BARBOUR on 7 April 1832 in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, Scotland.¹ (William BARBOUR was born about 1810.)
