Note: In the copy of the baptismal record reproduced in Scotland's People, the handwritten child's name looks like 'Jumema' (as iit has been indexed). The context suggests it is 'Jamema' with the first 'a' open at top. This scribe is not consistent in his small letter 'a', sometimes closing and sometimes leaving it open, for example in the word 'Baptised' a few words before the name, he writes'Buptised', but in the line above, the 'a' of 'had' is closed. In the witness name 'James' the 'a' is not closed. 1
