"I. ANDREW LESLIE, first Goodman of Bucharn, was the fourth son of John Leslie, second Baron of Wardis, and his eldest son by his fourth wife, Agnes Gordon of Haddo. He married Violet Menzies, daughter of Thomas Menzies of Pitfoddles, Provost of Aberdeen from 1525 to 1535, 1525-35 - and by her had twelve sons, named after the twelve Apostles, and six daughters."
