Marriage Notes:
"James (Abernethy), third Lord Saltoun, He was served heir to his predecessor 10 October 1488. For some years previous to 1498 he was engaged in a lawsuit against the heirs of line, Adam Hepburn of the Craigs and his wife Elizabeth Ogstoun (who was the child of the elder daughter of the second Lord Saltoun), and Sir John Wemyss of Strathardle and his wife Christian, the younger sister of Elizabeth. It was ultimately referred to arbitration, and certain sums were paid to the ladies. Lord Saltoun died in 1504 or 1505. The name of his wife is not known, but they had issue"
