"Alexander Innes of Pethnik died in August 1630, as appears from his grandson's Retour. (Banff Retours, H - 142.) He appointed his last wife, Violet Henderson, executrix testamentar" (page 83)
"He married 1st, prior to 1 July 1584, Jonet Leith (Privy Seal, Vol. 51, f. 2), and 2ndly, Jane , daughter of Alexander Skene of Skene (Memorials of the Family of Skene of Skene, New Spalding Club, p. 34), and 3rdly, Violet Henderson who after his death married as her second husband the Rev. William Sanders. (Sanders first wife was Christian Gregor.) (Acts & Decs. Commissariot of Moray, I., 28 August, 1632.)
She was the Laird of Pethnick's executrix, and after his death she and her new husband, the Minister of Bellie, on 4 January 1632, sued her stepson, Thomas Innes of Pethnick. for recovery of a gold ring with a pointed diamond in it, worth £40, and 60 pieces of silver, worth 4/- each, received by Thomas from Margaret Reith her servitor last Whitsunday, and whilst the Pursuers averred they had been lent, her stepson being placed on his oath of verity, swore that she gave them in gift."
