According to his daughter, Fanny's 1878 parish relief application David was 'a contractor'. ^{2 4}

David married Fanny WATSON. (Fanny WATSON was born about 1770.)

David next married Mary McNAIRN, daughter of Robert McINAIRNEY and Susan MURPHY.¹ (Mary McNAIRN was born about 1840 ⁵.)
