Ann McConvill was recorded by the 1871 census living with her husband, children, and father in law, in Carnwath. She was 36 years old and had been born in Ireland. She had six children aged from 12 years to 3 months.

Ann married John McCONVILL, son of Edward McCONVILL and Isabella WATSON, on 28 May 1858 in Lanark, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (John McCONVILL was born about 1836 in Ireland ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

A date for this marriage is recorded in the IGI as 23 May 1858 at Carluke. This is more likely to be part of the calling of the banns of marriage, and the later date to be the actual marriage. The Lanark record notes the bridegroom's name as 'Conville', the Carluke record notes it as 'McConvill'.
