Another name for Bridget was RICE, Biddy.1 General Notes: The 1851 census for Clarkston in the parish of New Monkland recorded a 'Biddy Rice' aged 9 years lodging in a McElroy family at 5 Clark Land, Edinburgh Road. Biddy was born in County Armagh, Ireland, and her parents were recorded as Patrick and Cathrine Rice. 1 3 Research Notes: A Bridget Rocks married a Samuel Findlay and moved to Airdrie, according to Jim Fairlie, but whether it is this one or a sister of her father is unclear. Bridget married Mary RICE, daughter of Peter ROCKS and Catherine VALLELY.4 5 (Mary RICE was born about 1844 in County Armagh, Ireland 2.)
