VALLELY, Patrick ²

   Cause of his death was chronic bronchitis and paralysis.

   Other names for Patrick were VALELLIE, Patrick ³ and VALLELLY, Patrick.

  General Notes:

Patrick died in 1883. His death certificate recorded him as aged 48 years, a chemical work gatekeeper, and married to Ann Rafferty. Both of his parents were then deceased.

Patrick was a gaswork labourer, and was recorded as dead when his daughter Mary married in 1906. ⁴

D. Walker surgeon certified the cause of death.

Ann Vallely, widow of the deceased, who had been present gave notice of his death before G. Millar Buchanan, registrar, at Glasgow on March 5 1883, and made her X mark.

Patrick married Ann RAFFERTY. (Ann RAFFERTY was born about 1835 and died between 4 Mar 1883 and 20 Sep 1906.)

"Sir John de Carmychell had a charter between 1374 and 1384 from William, Earl of Douglas and Mar, of the lands of Carmychell. This charter was confirmed on 10 October 1414 by Archibald, Earl of Douglas. Sir John also had charters from his cousin, Sir James Sandilands of Calder, of the lands of Little Galway in Wiston, dated 1 November 1385, confirmed by King Robert II. on 8 May 1387. He died ante 28 May 1417, having married a sister of Henry Wardlaw, Bishop of St. Andrews, and by her had two sons (1) William (2) John"
