QUIGLEY, William Granger

  General Notes:

This was the second child in the family to be given the name William.

William married Alexander Thomas QUIGLEY, son of Arthur QUIGLEY and Mary COCHRANE.^{2 3 4} (Alexander Thomas QUIGLEY was christened on 4 Jan 1829 in Drumglass, County Tyrone, Ireland.)

  Marriage Notes:

"George Sinclair of Mey. On 7 September 1574, he was served heir of tailzie to William Sinclair, his brother, lawful son of George, fourth Earl of Caithness, in the lands of Cannasbie, Scittar, Qwys, Hwnaye, Stronaye, and in the superiority of Warris, Smyddeis, Dwnat, and Murkill, with mills .... He married, before 1583 (see correction below), Margaret, sixth daughter of William, seventh Lord Forbes (she was born 14 October 1557), by whom he had four sons and five daughters."

"Margaret (Forbes), born 14 October 1557, married to George Sinclair of Mey. She had a charter to Margaret, sixth daughter of William, Lord Forbes, future spouse of George Sinclair, Chancellor of Caithness, son of George, Earl of Caithness, of part of the lands of Morkill and Dunnet, from the said George, 13 December 1578."
