  General Notes:

In her son William John's birth certificate of 1864, Jane was described as aged 26, and born in County Tyrone. She and her husband had one son of a year, Robert.

In her son Charles Edward's birth certificate in 1877, Jane was described as aged 37 and as having been born in County Tyrone in Ireland. It was she who informed the registrar of her son's birth and signed. Her address was given as Little John Street.

Jane next married William John QUIGLEY, son of Robert QUIGLEY and Bridget DIVER, on 26 Jan 1863 in Lauriston Street RC Chapel, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 (William John QUIGLEY was born about 1840 in County Donegal, Ireland,4 died on 27 Jan 1883 in 30 Union Street, Pyrmont, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 28 Jan 1883 in Haslim's Creek, New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of his death was hepatitis with dropsy.


  Marriage Notes:

William Quigley was a bachelor and mason's labourer, aged 23 years, of Hunter's Close, Grassmarket, Edinburgh. He made his X mark. His parents were living.

Jane Russell was an unmarried woman, a domestic servant aged 22 years, of the same address as the groom. Her mother was deceased. Jane signed the register.

The priest who married the couple was George Bampton.
The witnesses were Michael Dollan and James Fallan.

The marriage was registered on 29 January 1863 at Edinburgh, Robert Dick being the signing registrar.
