The 1851 census for Whittinghame, East Lothian recorded Helen Webster wife of Richard Webster, a shepherd, living at Muircockhall. Helen was recorded as being 63 years of age and had been born in Innerwick, Haddingtonshire. two of her children aged 24 and 28 years lived in the household as well as a granddaughter aged 4 years, Marion Black. 2


Helen married Richard WEBSTER, son of John WEBSTER and Helen FORTUNE.1 (Richard WEBSTER was born on 22 Jul 1787 in Stenton, East Lothian, Scotland and died 21 October 1856 at 1.00 am in Ruchlaw West Mains, Stenton, East Lothian, Scotland.). The cause of his death was 'supposed to be dropsy'.

The cause of his death was 'supposed to be dropsy'.


  Marriage Notes:

Another date was recorded for this couple in the Old Parish records of the parish of Innerwick, East Lothian, that of May 14 1813. In this the bride's father was named as William Hay. This date was probably that of the banns of marriage rather than the marriage itself.
