WILSON, Augustus Frederick

Augustus married Olivia WILSON, daughter of Sergeant Major George WILSON of the Royal Artillery and Elspet HERD, in Jun 1520.¹ (Olivia WILSON was born on 3 Jan 1829 and was christened on 23 Jan 1829 in Alvah Parish, Banffshire, Scotland.)

  Marriage Notes:

"On 4 March 1527-28 he and his wife had a Crown charter of the lands of Navidale,
in the parish of Kildonan, and of Garty, Lothmore, and others, in the parish of Loth."

"He married Janet Stewart, eldest daughter of John Stewart, second Earl of Atholl, and Janet Campbell, his wife. (See title Atholl.) The marriage probably took place about 16 June 1520, though Sir Robert Gordon refers it to the year 1518. The Mistress of Sutherland survived the Master, and married, secondly. Sir Hew Kennedy of Girvanmains before May 1532; thirdly, before November 1544, Henry, Lord Methven ; and, fourthly, about 1557, Patrick, Lord Ruthven, having issue to each husband. According to Sir Robert Gordon, her fifth husband was James Gray, son to Lord Gray of Poulis, without issue."
