Other names for Samuel were QUIGLEY, Samuell 5 and QUIGLY, Samuel. General Notes: The 1841 census for Kilmarnock recorded Samuell (sic), aged 10 years, living at Back Street. He had been born in Ayrshire. The head of the household was John McCann, married (probably) to Catrean, (again probably) the mother of Samuel and a widow after the death of his father. There were five Quigley children ranging from age 9-15 years, and two McCann children aged 4 and 2 years. Noted events in his life were: • sponsor at baptism, 10 Jul 1853, St Joseph's RC Chapel, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. 6 Samuel married Elizabeth DIGNAN on 3 Feb 1850 in St Joseph's RC Chapel, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. (Elizabeth DIGNAN was born 1830 Jul-Aug in Dumshambo, County Leitrim, Ireland.)
