QUIGLEY, William

  • Born: About 1830, Flintsing, Stirlingshire, Scotland 2
  • Marriage (1): Unknown 1

  General Notes:

In the 1841 census for Fintry, Stirlingshire William Quigley was recorded living with his parents, his sister Agness and his brother Daniel in Back Street, New Town. He was 10 years of age and had been born in Stirlingshire. His occupation was noted as cotton spinner.

William was included in the 1881 census return for HMS Vernon at Portsmouth Hampshire England. He worked as a stoker and was recorded as a married man aged 55. 'Flintsing' in Stirlingshire was recorded as his birth place: it may be Fintry. If Fintry is correct then he may have been a member of the family of Peter Quigley and Catharine Christie. 2
