James Vallely was a farmer, according to the death certificate of his daughter Mary in 1872. ³

James married Mary GOREMAN. (Mary GOREMAN was born about 1760.)

James next married Margaret KEAN.^{1 2} (Margaret KEAN was born about 1819 in Ireland ⁴ and died in 1878 in Anderston, Glasgow, Scotland ^{5 6}.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Archibald Douglas of Glenbervie. His various lands were in 1538 and also in 1542 erected into a barony, called the barony of Glenbervie. He is said to have been delicate, but lived until 29 September 1570, as appears from his recorded testament. He married first, Agnes Keith, daughter of William, second Earl Marischal, who died before 1548."
