   Cause of his death was "supposed rupture of blood vessels of Heart as death ensued in a few minutes".4

When John died in 1867 his age at death was recorded as 40 years. He was also recorded as an iron miner married to Sarah Valleyley (sic). His mother was deceased. 4

John had no medical attendant.

Michael McDonagh a neighbour, of Whifflet, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of John's death before the registrar, Andrew Baird, at Coatdyke on 30 July 1867. 4


John married Sarah VALLELY, daughter of John VALLELY and Alice QUINN, on 23 Apr 1853 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Sarah VALLELY was christened on 3 Mar 1822 in Dungannon Parish, County Tyrone, Ireland 7 and died on 26 Sep 1889 in Thomson's Land, Whifflet Street, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland 6.). The cause of her death was liver disease over 14 days.4

Fr Duncan McNab married this couple. The witnesses were Francis Corrigan and Elisabeth McCombe or McCombie, or even McLosky. 1

John next married James HAGANS, son of John HAGANS and Sarah VALLELY.2 (James HAGANS was born on 11 Apr 1857 in Old Monkland Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5.)
