"... he (John Grant) married before 19th February, 1539-40, Lady Margaret Stewart, daughter of John, third Earl of Athole, and she on that date received a Crown Charter of the lands of Mulben and others in the shire of Elgin and Forres, with the lands of the two Culfbichs and others, in the shire of Inverness, in liferent, and she was duly infeft in these lands on the 3rd and 10th November following."
