Catherine Quigly (sic) was recorded as the mother of Elizabeth Fox Quigley at her birth in July 1859. It is most probably this one. ³

Catherine married Mary J. McCARTNEY, daughter of Thomas James McCARTNEY and Matilda Jane LYNAS, in 1717.¹ (Mary J. McCARTNEY was born about 1878 in Alston, Cumberland, England.)

Catherine next married Andrew FOX on 3 May 1861 in St Joseph's Chapel, South Woodside Road, Glasgow, Scotland.² (Andrew FOX was born about 1837.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was a Roman Catholic marriage, Fr Eric William Leslie RCC being the celebrant. The witnesses were Francis Needham and Margaret Quigley.

Andrew Fox was an ironstone miner, a bachelor of 23 years, who resided at 45 Bridge Street Maryhill, near Glasgow.
Catherine Quigley was also unmarried. She was aged 24 years and was a weaver. Her address was 245 Garscube Road Glasgow.
Andrew signed the register and Catherine made her X mark.

The marriage was registered on 7 May 1861 at Glasgow; the registrar was James Smith.
